These deciduous plants produce large, fragrant clusters of white flowers in the Springtime, followed by black to dark purple large clusters of berries near the end of summer. The berries can be harvested and used in making many products such as elderberry syrup, jam, and wine. They also are a great seasonal forage for local wildlife.
The Adams Elderberry can be grown as a shrub or can be cut back annually as a perennial.
